How New York tax sales work
New York has no investor lien: the county (or another government office) sells the property itself, and the buyer generally takes title once the sale is final, subject to the state's rules on confirmation and any remaining redemption rights.
How the auction is won: Sale by tax district. Redemption period: 2 years after lien date.
